Learn to love yourself and start receiving the love you deserve.
I get it. You want to be loved, but you don't know how to love yourself in the way that you want to be loved. It's hard not to feel insecure when your partner doesn't love you the same way that you love them. But before we can even think about having a healthy relationship, we need to learn how to love ourselves. So, let's start with understanding what we need in order to feel loved.
Why don’t they love me in the way I want to be loved?
Do you love yourself?
Of course not! Why would I do that? I’m not arrogant.
But if you don’t love yourself, how can you expect someone else to?
They should just love me anyway; love is unconditional right?
Well, what about the unconditional love for yourself?
What does that even mean?!
Loving yourself is:
Comparing yourself to no one other than yourself.
Not worrying what others think of you.
Not beating yourself up when you make a mistake.
Knowing you are good enough.
Not allowing anyone to speak to you in a negative way.
Trusting yourself to make decisions about your life.
Not seeking everyone else’s opinion all the time.
Not apologising for everything.
Things you can do to Love Yourself:
Be Grateful
What are you grateful for in yourself? It could be your resilience, your kindness, your hair, your listening skills.
Speak kindly
How often do you tell yourself you are stupid or something else negative? Catch yourself. When you start running yourself down in your mind say “I’m not going to think like that” and say something you would say to a good friend. High five
You know how I love the Mel Robbins High Five. Give yourself a high five every morning in the mirror.

Self-love and confidence are interlinked. Confidence is a skill, it grows and expands with practice. This is the same with self-love. Self-love can grow by taking small steps, in exactly the same way as confidence. The more you love yourself, the more confident you get. The more confident you get, the more you love yourself.
Love is one of the most important things in life. It makes the world go round and can make us happier than anything else. However, it’s not always easy to find love or be loved by others in the way that we want. This is partly because loving ourselves is often a lot harder than we think.
